Family Physician | Special Interest in Sports Medicine
Currently practicing at Kingsway clinic
I am a family physician with a deep passion for sports medicine and musculoskeletal care. Originally trained as an orthopedic trauma surgeon in the Philippines, I bring a unique perspective to primary care. After relocating to Canada, I completed my Family Medicine residency through the University of Calgary Rural Program. Prior to that, I served as an Associate Physician in Orthopedic Surgery at Alberta Health Services’ Peter Lougheed Centre in Calgary, which included roles in the emergency room and inpatient settings, while also assisting as a secondary surgeon in the operating room. I offer sports medicine assessments and targeted interventions including corticosteroid and hyaluronic acid injections for arthritis, tendinopathy, bursitis, and other musculoskeletal conditions. I also perform a wide range of minor office procedures such as skin biopsies, lesion excisions, cyst aspirations, incision and drainage, and laceration repairs. By combining my orthopedic surgical background with full-scope family medicine, I am dedicated to helping individuals of all ages recover from injuries, effectively manage pain, and safely return to activities they enjoy. Outside of medicine, I stay active by going to the gym and playing sports. I love to travel and, most importantly, spend quality time with my family.
What to Expect From Your Care
Patient Care Approach and Referral Process
Consultation, Procedures & Follow-Up Guide
We are privileged to provide your care and take your trust very seriously. Our team is committed to delivering attentive, respectful, and supportive care at every visit.
We recognize the healthcare system is under significant pressure and that timely referrals matter. Once your primary care provider submits a referral, it is promptly reviewed and prioritized by our team.
New Consultations
Most new patients begin with a virtual consultation. If an in-person visit is clearly needed, we will arrange that. During the visit, we will review your history and current symptoms, and provide a clear plan with next steps and treatment options.
Procedure Appointments
We perform a range of minor office procedures, including joint injections (corticosteroids and hyaluronic acid), ganglion cyst, Trigger Point Injections and other mass aspirations or excisions, laceration repairs, and incision & drainage. These are usually scheduled after the initial consultation once the plan is discussed and consent is obtained.
Follow-up Appointments
Follow-up is typically recommended a few weeks after a procedure, with timing adjusted based on your needs and progress. These can be in person or virtual. We encourage you to continue care with your primary provider and will always share our notes with them.
