I’m very pleased to be joining VyCare and caring for families in Burnaby. I qualified in medicine in 1992 and have more than 30 years of experience in family medicine, primarily in the UK and Ireland. I trained in hospital medicine before moving into general practice and becoming a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners. For many years, I worked as a GP partner in a busy practice in Northamptonshire, caring for patients and families across generations. I provide comprehensive family medicine for patients of all ages, with particular experience in heart health, high blood pressure, diabetes, respiratory conditions, thyroid and kidney disease, and the care of older adults. I also have experience in heart failure care, mental health, medication reviews, frailty, falls and memory concerns. I offer ear examinations and microsuction wax removal and can also provide home visits for housebound patients where appropriate. Teaching has been an important part of my career, and I have supervised trainee doctors and advanced practitioners for many years. I consult in English, Tamil and Telugu. Having recently moved to Canada with my wife and young daughter, I understand the challenges of navigating a new healthcare system. My approach is centred on listening carefully, taking the time to understand each patient, and helping them make informed decisions about their health. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and exploring our new community.
