Dr. Rogelio is a dedicated family physician with specialized interest in musculoskeletal injuries and sports medicine. Board-certified in family medicine by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and in orthopedic surgery by the Philippine Board of Orthopedics, he holds advanced certifications including Point-of-Care Ultrasound training. He completed his Family Medicine Residency at the University of Calgary Rural Program, emphasizing comprehensive care in urgent care, emergency, and critical care settings. Prior training includes Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the Armed Forces of the Philippines Medical Center and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Santo Tomas. His clinical experience spans roles as an Associate Physician in Orthopedic Surgery at Alberta Health Services, orthopedic surgeon and general practitioner in Philippine hospitals and rural clinics, and prior electives in physiatry, sports medicine and family practice in Vancouver and Calgary. Passionate about education and mentorship, Dr. Rogelio is especially involved in orienting international medical graduates who plan to enter the health care field in Canada. His research includes presentations at international conferences on trauma outcomes, wound management, and shoulder instability, alongside quality improvement projects in rural family medicine. An active member of the Canadian Medical Association, Alberta Medical Association, Doctors of BC and Society of Rural Physicians of Canada, he volunteers as a medic and basketball coach in community programs and has participated in medical missions in the Philippines and Canada, advocating for accessible and equitable healthcare for everyone.
